INA – Instituto de Nanociencia de Aragón

Laboratories: INA & LMA

  Laboratories: INA & LMA

INA has the following laboratories equipped with the latest generation equipment:

Thin film growth laboratory:

A thin film is a layer of material with a thickness of nanometers to several microns. They have a high interest from the research point of view, to allow us to study physical and chemical properties of quasi-two-dimensional systems. Used as a coating to modify the physical or chemical properties of the substrate or to create superstructures with new physicochemical properties…[Read more]

Lithography Laboratory – Clean room facilities:

Nanolithography comprises all lithographic techniques to fabricate nanodevices using top-down techniques. The lab has two different technologies depending on the scale of the dimensions of the device to be manufactured… [Read more]

Laboratory for local probe microscopy:

Local Probe Microcopy offers with unprecedented detail atomic and orbital resolution of surfaces and atomic/molecular adsorbates on top of it. It also is unique in the manipulation capabilities, which allows the individual positioning of single atoms and molecules to create man-designed structures. During the last years a large variety of spectroscopic methods… [Read more]

UHRTEM Laboratory:

The aim of the UHRTEM laboratory of the LMA is to offer the scientific community access to unique instruments and expertise allowing the structural and chemical analysis of materials at a spatial resolution of few picometers. With that purpose, the UHRTEM laboratory is equipped with the very last generation of Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM)… [Read more]

TEM Laboratory:

In addition to the UHRTEM laboratory, a more standard TEM laboratory equipped with a high level uncorrected TEM (FEI TECNAI F30) and a more basic one (FEI TECNAI T20) has been set at the LMA. These equipments may be used by external users after few sessions of practice… [Read more]

Laboratory for biomedical applications:

Magnetic hyperthermia technique is a variant of microwave hyperthermia in oncology protocols established as an adjunct to other treatments (eg radiotherapy). Hyperthermia processes consist in the increase of temperature (up to 45 º C) to generate induced cell death to tumor regression… [Read more]

Laboratory for synthesis and functionalization of nanosystems:

Laboratory dedicated to the synthesis, characterization and functionalization of nanosystems. Nanomaterials such as nanotubes, nanoporous materials, nanoparticles and variousorganic and inorganic structures, are functionalized with proteins, carbohydrates and peptides to potentially generate biocompatible nanomaterials for biomedical use… [Read more]

Laboratory of microstructural characterization and spectroscopy:

The laboratory of microstructural characterisation of nanostructures comprises various characterization techniques to optimize the physical-chemical nanostructures. X-ray diffractometer to determine growth, crystal structure, thickness, density, roughness and network parameters for thin layers and superstructures… [Read more]

Advanced Microscopy Laboratory, LMA:

LMA was recognized (7th October 2014) by the Government of Spain as a joint National Facility together with the CNME (from Universidad Complutense of Madrid). In other words, LMA and CNME hold an ICTS distinction (ICTS is a Spanish acronym from: Instalación Científico Técnica Singular). This ICTS allows users from research centers, national and international laboratories and industry to carry out experiments and pursue groundbreaking research.[Read more]
